The Emerging Start-ups session is designed for entrepreneurial scientists preparing to launch start-ups that address unmet needs in animal health and welfare through innovative technologies. With projects typically at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 3–6, this session provides a platform to pitch mature innovations that are nearing market readiness. Presenters will outline the scientific foundation and mode of action behind their solution, while detailing a development pipeline, intellectual property strategy, cost of goods, regulatory considerations, and manufacturing/upscaling plans. A strong focus is placed on business viability: clear articulation of competitive landscape, and a value proposition are expected.
The session aims to catalyze industry partnerships, attract investor interest, and guide innovators toward successful commercialization. By bridging the gap between academia and market, Emerging Start-ups offers a critical opportunity for early-stage companies to validate their vision, refine their go-to-market strategies, and increase their visibility within the animal health innovation ecosystem. It's where transformative science meets scalable impact.
