By plane

Travel to Belgium to Brussels Airport. From there, you can easily take the train to the train station Gent Sint-Pieters. Directly from the airport at level -1, you can access the train station and take a direct train to the Ghent Sint-Pieters station in 56 min.

Travel by Public transport

There are at least 2 direct trains per hour from Brussels Airport, from Brussels Central Railway Station and from Brussels South Railway Station, with a stop in Gent Sint-Pieters. These are trains with terminus Oostende, Blankenberge or Knokke.

You can buy your train tickets at using “from: Brussels Airport”, and “To: Ghent St Pieters”, choose the dates, pay by credit card and receive a pdf of your tickets that you have to print and take with you. 

The public transport network of Ghent is operated by the company De Lijn and consists of trams and buses. Upon arrival in Gent, take bus P4 at the railway station (every 10 minutes) and get off at stop Korenmarkt. You can buy a ticket or pass in multiple ways.

!!! A free ticket for the bus and/or tram back to the train station will be provided to you by the Conference organizer on the last day. Go and collect your free ticket at the registration desk. 


On Thursday 8 February, it is easy to leave the Conference and catch a train to Brussels Airport. You can view available (and direct) trains here:

Please note: The inner city of Ghent is a low emission zone, helping to contribute to the conservation of the environment and increasing the quality of city life. Regulation is now in place restricting certain vehicles in this area. Access to the city requires prior registration and/or the payment of a fee. The hotel is also located in an area restricted to traffic and needs to be accessed via the Ring Road as the city center does not admit through traffic. 


Onsite, Paid Service at the congress hotel (€27,50 per night). The hotel is located in a restricted area but the parking garage is accessible for guests as it's located outside of this area, before Hoogpoort. Access to Hoogpoort is not permitted without a valid permit. Should you access this street without a permit an automatic fine of € 58 will be issued which cannot be annulled. Parking cannot be reserved in advance.
There's also an Offsite option, located 0.4 km from the hotel and is also with charge, around €23.50 for 24 hours.
