Johannes Charlier Managing Director Kreavet

Johannes Charlier (DVM, PhD, Dip. EVPC) is founding manager of the animal health research & consulting agency Kreavet. He obtained a PhD in veterinary sciences from Ghent University where he specialised in the diagnosis, epidemiology, control and economics of parasitic infections in ruminants. He served 2 years as scientific director in Avia-GIS and founded Kreavet in 2017 to advance innovation in animal health. Johannes is project manager of DISCONTOOLS, a database for research gaps for infectious animal diseases and became coordinator of the secretariat of the STAR-IDAZ international research consortium on animal health (SIRCAH) in 2022.  Johannes was chair of the COST Action COMBAR “Combatting Anthelmintic Resistance in Ruminants” (2017-2022). His research contributions were published in > 100 scientific publications and were subject of 2 international awards. Johannes is a EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Parasitology and received several scientific awards for his contributions to veterinary parasitology and epidemiology. He is project manager of DISCONTOOLS, sits in the board of various scientific organisations and regularly acts as (guest-)editor for scientific journals.
