Dr. Hodgson has been a member of the leadership team at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) since 2006. In his current role as VIDO’s Director of Operations Paul is responsible for strategic partnerships, and communications. In the past 5-years at VIDO he has been instrumental in more than ~$150 million in investments into the organization and continues to build international partnerships. A native of Toronto Dr. Hodgson’s positions stem from his various academic expertise and accomplishments. His formal education includes a BSc and MSc (Pharmacology) from Dalhousie University, a PhD in Medicine from the Memorial University, and an MBA from the University of Alberta. He is a founding Director and the Corporate Secretary of the Pan-Provincial Vaccine Enterprise Inc and the past chair of emerging companies on BIOTECanada’s Vaccine Industry Committee where he remains as VIDO’s representative. Beyond his success in work and academia, Dr. Hodgson served as the Chair of the Science and Technology Campaign for the United Way and the Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon.
