Dr. Jose Carlos Mancera graduated at the Veterinary School of the University of Zaragoza (Spain). After working in the Netherlands for an animal nutrition company he moved to Belgium where he obtained a PhD degree at the Laboratory of Virology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Ghent by investigating the adaptation of avian influenza viruses to pigs. Right after getting his PhD, in 2017, Jose Carlos joined Zoetis Global Biologics R&D Team working in the research and development of vaccines for companion animals and equine. At present, he member of the Global Biologics EU Swine and Cattle Team. During this time at Zoetis, he has established animal models, different kind of laboratory techniques (immunology, virology, molecular virology) for multiple species.
Jose Carlos has lead several project teams to develop vaccines at different stages; and has actively participated in the project that allowed the registration of CircoMax Myco vaccine. Jose Carlos is also (co-)author of several peer reviewed articles.
