Joni Bert graduated as a small animal veterinarian in 2022 and is currently a researcher at Ghent University. Motivated by the increasing prevalence of antimicrobial resistance, he shifted his focus towards research aimed at developing innovative alternatives to traditional antibiotics. His work combines veterinary expertise with biotechnology to explore novel antimicrobial strategies, such as endolysins.
Through his research, Joni seeks to contribute to more sustainable and effective approaches for treating infectious diseases in animals. He is particularly interested in the translation of scientific discoveries into practical applications, bridging the gap between laboratory research and clinical practice.
