Dr. Kazuhiko Hirose graduated from Kitasato University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991 and earned a Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He joined Meiji Seika Co. Ltd. in 1992 as a Research Scientist and is currently serving as President and Representative Director of Meiji Animal Health Co., Ltd. 

Prior to his appointment as President of Meiji Animal Health, Dr. Hirose held various leading roles in Veterinary Research and Development at Meiji Seika, amongst others as Chief of the Technical Service Group and Head of the Livestock and Aquaculture Group. Furthermore, he also held a role as a visiting professor at the Department of Agriculture at Shinshu University, Japan.

Subsequently he moved into the commercial arm of the business and in 2021 was appointed as Managing Director for the Agricultural and Veterinary Division and in 2022 he has been appointed to his current position as President Meiji Animal Health Co. Ltd.

Outside of his role at Meiji Animal Health, Dr. Hirose holds further appointments including Director of the Japanese Society of Antimicrobials for Animals, Director of the Japanese Society of Animal Hygiene, Director of the Japan Veterinary Products Association, Member of the JMAFF committee for Revision  on  the Prevention of Infectious Diseases.
