Bert Devriendt earned his PhD in Veterinary Sciences from Ghent University, where he now serves as an Associate Professor of Mucosal Immunology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. With over 20 years of expertise in immunology and enteric diseases, specializing in gut health and pathogenic E. coli, his research explores host-pathogen interactions at the mucosal surfaces of pigs. By applying the obtained insights, he develops preventive therapies to enhance intestinal health, including a patented gut-delivery technology that triggers protective immunity. Bert Devriendt has authored 120 publications and holds two patents.
