Dieter Vancraeynest, DVM, PhD, is a seasoned veterinary scientist and innovation strategist with nearly two decades of experience in the animal health industry. Currently serving in the External Innovation team at Zoetis, he plays a pivotal role in identifying and advancing strategic partnerships that drive innovation in animal health.

Dieter began his career after earning his veterinary degree and PhD in Veterinary Sciences from Ghent University, Belgium. His early professional journey included technical and scientific roles at Alpharma and Pfizer Animal Health, where he contributed to product development and technical services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Following Pfizer’s transition to Zoetis, he took on increasingly strategic global roles, focusing on ideation and prioritization of the pipeline and launching new products.

In his current role, Dieter focuses on external innovation scouting, evaluating emerging technologies, and fostering collaborations with startups, academic institutions, and biotech companies.
